About the Webinar:

This webinar provides a comprehensive look at breast cancer, from its prevalence (1 in 8 women will be diagnosed) and key risk factors to national and Nebraska-specific incidence, mortality, and screening disparities. We will delve into current screening guidelines, including breast density and shared decision-making, and explore the significant psychosocial impacts women face throughout their cancer journey.

Learning Objectives:

  1.  Interpret key national and local data on breast cancer incidence, mortality and screening to identify relevant trends and disparities and evaluate implications for clinical practice and public health initiatives.
  2. Identify the key risk factors associated with breast cancer development and describe its common signs and symptoms, understanding their clinical relevance for early detection and patient education.
  3. Discuss current breast cancer screening guidelines, including the impact of breast density, and the principles of shared decision-making to personalize screening recommendations.
  4. Illustrate the diverse psychosocial impacts experienced by women throughout breast cancer diagnosis, treatment and survivorship.
