This presentation explores the physical, emotional, and psychological effects of cancer on sexuality, offering evidence-based treatment options and guidance for patients, partners, and healthcare providers.

About the Speaker
Melissa Dahir, DNP, APRN, FNP-C is a doctorate-prepared, board-certified family nurse practitioner with nearly two decades of experience specializing in sexual medicine and vulvar pain disorders. Since 2006, she has been recognized as one of the Midwest’s leading experts in women’s sexual health. Dr. Dahir’s clinical expertise includes the diagnosis and treatment of vulvar pain disorders, chronic pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction across the female lifespan, vulvar dermatologic conditions such as lichen sclerosus, and the complex hormonal changes associated with menopause. She also provides care for male patients, treating conditions such as hypogonadism and erectile dysfunction.
A published researcher, Dr. Dahir has contributed to the medical literature on the use of testosterone therapy in women with breast cancer and the application of abobotulinumtoxinA (Dysport) for vulvodynia. She currently operates a solo private practice in West Omaha, offering both in-person and telehealth appointments to provide flexible, personalized care to her patients.
