HPV Vaccination is Cancer Prevention: Current Landscape, Best Practices and Resources

Wednesday, July 10, 2024

12p-1p CST

About the Webinar:

HPV (human papillomavirus) is known to cause many types of cancer in adults, with more than 37,000 people getting HPV-related cancers in the United States every year. The HPV vaccine can prevent more than 90% of six HPV cancers when given at the recommended age. HPV vaccination is cancer prevention, yet it continues to be underutilized despite the overwhelming evidence for its safety and effectiveness. Join us to hear from the National HPV Vaccination Roundtable and learn more about raising HPV vaccination rates and preventing HPV cancers.

Learning Objectives:

1) Discuss coverage and disparities of HPV vaccination from a national and local perspective.

2) Review current U.S. recommendations for HPV vaccination.

3) Identify opportunities for increasing HPV vaccination rates during back-to-school push.

4) Illustrate best practices for effect vaccine recommendations and how to educate parents about the HPV vaccine.
